Das Rufus Temple Orchestra ist die musikalische Heimat für nostalgische Seelen und tanzwütige Herzen – ein mondänes Spektakel mit Liebe zum Detail.
Das Berliner Quintett widmet sich den schönsten Perlen des Hot Jazz und Ragtime der 1920er Jahre und bringt sie mit Herzblut an den Connaisseur mit Musikgeschmack von gestern.
Seit seiner Gründung 2016 spielte sich das Orchestra in die Herzen der Berliner Swingtanz-Szene, gab über 300 Konzerte, gastierte auf internationalen Festivals und tourte durch ganz Deutschland.
Als gefragtes Ensemble für traditionellen Jazz ist das Rufus Temple Orchestra in preisgekrönten Kino-, TV-, Hörbuch- und Studioproduktionen zu hören und zu sehen:
“Krieg der Träume” (Arte, ARD), “Die Juten Sitten” (Audible), “Through the Darkest of Times” (Computerspiel, Paintbucket Games), Kinofilme “Leif in Concert Vol.2” (missingFILMS) und “Notes of Berlin” (RBB).
Ende 2020 veröffentlichte die Band ihr zweites Album “New Orleans Joys – the music of Jelly Roll Morton” und im Dezember 2022 ihr aktuelles Album “Original Rags & Tracks” mit einer Besonderheit: alle Stücke darauf sind Eigenkompositionen der verschiedenen Bandmitglieder.

The Rufus Temple Orchestra is a Hot Jazz and Ragtime Band formed by one lady and four gentlemen from Berlin who are passionate about the early traditional Jazz born in New Orleans around 1920.
Praised by their audiences for creating an authentic vintage sound, with their exquisite 1920’s aesthetics and their joyous vibe the Rufus Temple Orchestra always leaves behind cheerful hearts and dancing feet.
Founded in 2016 they quickly became a sweetheart of the Berlin swing dance community, look back on over 300 concerts in clubs and on international festivals and regularly tour through the whole of Germany.
This is the band that companies like Audible and Arte booked to play for award-winning productions such as: TV-series “Clash of futures” (Arte, ARD), audiobook “Die Juten Sitten” (Audible), computer game “Through the Darkest of Times” (Paintbucket Games), movies “Leif in Concert Vol.2” (missingFILMS) and “Notes of Berlin” (RBB).
In dec. 2020 the band released their second album “New Orleans Joys – the music of Jelly Roll Morton” and in dec. 2022 their recent album “Original Rags & Tracks”. Whats special about it? All songs are composed by each of the band’s members specially for this album!
